Matthew Lowman is a junior public relations major at Syracuse University in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Matt is a huge Ravens fan who loves reading and spending time with his dogs. Matt is passionate about creative writing and sees public relations as a way to use his writing skills to enhance a company’s public image. Matt's experience with writing and creativity in film has allowed him to connect his storytelling skills to the impactful connections of public relations. Through his work with professional organizations like Syracuse Athletics and the Delmarva Shorebirds, Matt has deepened his love for public relations and the broad reach the profession offers. With his writing skills, Matthew is able to clearly bring a company’s message to a wider audience in a professional format. He finds that building connections with clients and the public through writing, social media, and other avenues the most gratifying and exciting aspect of public relations. In the future, Matt is looking to work in crisis or corporate communications.
